The C.ex McDonald’s Cycle Challenge is now in it’s 9th year. It is a community ride that caters for riders of all abilities and ages, including riders with a disability and ebikers. The event is a project of Coffs City Rotary Club and all profits are donated back to local and Rotary charities.
In 2018 all rides will start and finish at Coffs Harbour Jetty Foreshores, Jordan Esplanade. There are categories for elite and recreational riders as well as families and riders with a disability.
The rides will include:
165 km ride – For genuinely elite and experienced riders, this route is a challenging ride covering 165kms of twists and turns, up and downhill challenges through forest, farmlands and creeks along the Coffs coast from the Jetty to Bellingen then onto Macksville and return. There is a cut off mark for riders in this distance.
100 km ride – For competent and experienced riders, this route is a picturesque ride from Coffs Harbour through Sawtell to Bellingen and return. There is a cut off mark for riders in this distance.
60 km ride – This is a perfect ride for the weekend warrior and intermediate riders. The route follows the picturesque 100km ride but returns to the Jetty for an early mark.
30 km ride – This ride is aimed at recreational riders and follows a safe and picturesque route from Coffs jetty via Sawtell and return.
10 km ride – For families, less experienced or older riders, and disability riders with hand cycles, this route follows the Jordan Esplanade and south along the south breakwall.
165km and 100km riders – Riders must be 15 years of age and over to enter this category.
60 km ride – Riders must be 12 years of age and over to enter this category.
30 km ride – Riders under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
10 km ride – A maximum of 2 adults can ride. Riders under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
