Raleigh Bridge is open for the Challenge

By October 9, 2018Latest News

The Raleigh bridge will be open for cyclist during the Cycle Challenge.  Restrictions will be in place to ensure the safety of the riders. A ‘tunnel’ has been created  on the main bridge that currently allows buses and local traffic to cross the bridge at specific times each day.  This tunnel will be in use during the Challenge, allowing cyclists to distance themselves from the refurbishment work on the bridge.
The safety measures that will be in place for cyclist include:
     Single file through the tunnel
Speed reduction to 10km through the tunnel
Traffic marshals on either end of the bridge and on the Raleigh roundabout – please follow their instructions.

We would like to thank the staff at RMS for their efforts in ensuring that our riders will be able to access the bridge.
